Glyceryl monocaprate is a capric acid against 1-monoglyceride gram-positive bacterial infections.(In Vitro):Glyceryl monocaprate has antimicrobial activity against gram-positive ATCC SA 29123.(In Vivo):Glycerol monocaprate in combination with low-dose doxycycline is effective in treating cold sores. It significantly reduces time to healing and pain compared to placebo and monocaprin alone .
